Ccaps supports the international event, which will debate entrepreneurship and innovation in Rio de Janeiro in October
A week filled with learning, entrepreneurship and innovation. These are the proposals set forth by Entrepreneur Week, an event to be held in Brazil for the first time. With a team of high profile speakers and sponsored by global companies such as Bing, Dell and American Airlines, EW will gather representatives from the government, major entrepreneurs from a range of different sectors, the international press and investors from October 22-26 at Rio de Janeiro’s Planetarium in Gávea to debate the transformations affecting the very way people do business.
Entrepreneur Week travels the entire world, bringing business-related information from speakers who understand the entire process of what makes a company successful: from inception to market consolidation. In addition to Rio de Janeiro, the event will also take place in New York, San Francisco, Moscow and Cairo by the end of 2013. EW has already been taken to 15 countries, 5 continents and 25 cities worldwide.
“Why isn’t Brazil what it could exponentially be? Why isn’t this economic potential seen in people’s daily lives? Why are Brazilians’ great ideas still exported abroad? And why do these same talents seek investments and funding out there and not here?” asked Bárbara Teles, one of the organizers of Entrepreneur Week in Brazil, referring to the main topics to be addressed.
According to Pamela Granoff, the event organizer, each day of the event is themed to cover specific areas effecting the entrepreneurial community in Brazil addressing issues such as how to overcome business challenges, opportunities in social business, Legal aspects for Entrepreneurs on venture capital investments, funding your business and how to best position your brand.
The event will also mobilize students, considered the main fuel for creating the culture of innovation. In addition to discount registration, students from 25 universities around the world will be able to attend EW Rio de Janeiro lectures live.
“EW is the highest point that any entrepreneur can reach,” said Garret Gravesen, named one of one of the Ten Outstanding Young People of the World, the TOYP Award. “All of the participants leave [the event] informed, inspired and committed,” he said.
Online registrations at: http://ewbrazil2012.eventbrite.com. Registration fees range from US$40 to $225. Special discounts for students for the entire week of the event.
