This year all eyes will turn to Rio de Janeiro, and we could not let this go unnoticed. So we decided to play a little Game of Thrones by adding a new domain to our virtual territory. In celebration of an exciting year ahead, we are now both ccaps.net and Ccaps.Rio!
Blessed by Christ the Redeemer, night view of the Wonderful City
In 2016 Rio will host the largest and most complex sporting event in the world. A celebration of innovation and creativity, the Games are also a symbol of humanity, fair play and sporting excellence. But while it will attract most of the world’s attention, there are so many events and improvements unfolding simultaneously in the city that we could not ignore them.
The festivities to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the city, which started last March, will continue in 2016. With nearly 1,000 events taking place all over town, from art exhibitions to music concerts, walking tours and roundtables, there will be plenty for anyone interested in learning more about the city’s historic, artistic, cultural, geographic and architectural repertoire.
Speaking of architecture, the recently opened Museum of Tomorrow, part of the Porto Maravilha (Wonder Port) urban project, already ranks as one of the world’s most extraordinary buildings. With solar spines above and a skylight below, and inspired by the bromeliads in Rio’s Botanical Gardens, the museum explores the possibilities of how we are building our future. Later in the year, the Museum of Image and Sound’s massive structure will create an audiovisual experience to present the Brazilian cultural and creative industry. The building will be in shades of white, gray and black, the colors of the iconic boardwalk design of Copacabana beach.
The Museum of Tomorrow focuses on ideas rather than objects
In our line of business, the Brazilian Translator’s Association (ABRATES) is coming back home to host its annual event in June 2016. This year they expect to gather 1,000 industry professionals, academic experts and translation students in the largest turnout in the event’s history. Ccaps has been a strong and consistent supporter of all ABRATES activities and this year will be no different. Members of our staff will be attending and presenting at the conference to show once more how much we value the work of these professionals, the best of which are members of the Ccaps team.
Ccaps joins the movement and has some exciting news. In addition to our expansion in the web territory, we also added new domains to our service scope. After building a strong team to lead our interpreting initiatives, we feel confident to offer more extensively live and over-the-phone interpreting services to our customers. Since partnerships are the foundation of our success, we have now added full scale sworn translation services to the Ccaps portfolio, always following the strict Brazilian regulatory and legal requirements. With exciting new technology coming up and the renewed interest in Latin America, in 2016 we will be supporting global organizations interested in expanding into the region, facing together the rough tides of the global economic landscape.
Sunrise at Ipanema Beach
Admired by everyone who has ever visited it; sung, depicted and praised by talented artists worldwide; renowned for its natural beauties, stunning geography and welcoming people, our home city is undoubtedly and most aptly named, The Wonderful City. Here where the local flavor acquires a worldly taste, where there are no ethnic clusters and every immigrant feels like a carioca, global is about to become the word du jour. Any resemblance to Ccaps is definitely not mere coincidence.
What are you waiting for? Book your flight, pack your bags and come visit us. We will be glad to guide you through .Rio and prove you that there is reason enough to celebrate.
